Today, while helping two customers find their skin type, my boss Anna walked around the counter to grab a product. She turned the corner just as a gnarly homeless woman was pouring an bottle of Clarifying Lotion all over the counter.

Anna, "Get away from my products."
Gnarly homeless woman, "I'M A BEAUTY QUEEN!!"

... and then she kicked Anna's thigh with the heel of her boot and ran out screaming.

I'm pretty sure the girl at the BeneFit counter hates me. My extra cheerful interactions with her might have done even more harm than good.

Immediately after training, I walked to the liquor store and bought a bottle of wine.

I met Anna today. "I won't ever get mad at you, I'll only get mad at them.", when talking about the men who hired me.

Turns out, I am making commission.

My interview was today.

The actual interview went well even though I thought I bombed. They hired me on the spot, but there was much confusion. Between the two men who hired me, they kept getting their stories mixed up. One didn't know what the other had told me. It almost seemed as if I wasn't supposed to be hired.

I'm part time, on call and I don't make commission. I go back tomorrow to fill out the rest of my paperwork and meet Anna, the counter manager.

In other news, SEPTA went on strike today. It's difficult to find the motivation to find a second job when I can't even get to my first one.

Part Timer

I make enough money at my job to pay my rent and utilities and bills, but I never have enough left over to save or spend. I came across a magazine article that mentioned part time, seasonal employment and it catch my attention.

Could I hold two jobs during the holiday season?

I currently work 40 hours a week, from 9:30am to 6:00pm. Would anyone hire me with limited availability?

I started filling out applications. I Google mapped some areas in Center City, Philadelphia since Google now shows the store names if you zoom in close enough. Lush, H&M and American Apparel for starters.
